DELEGATING
TASKS
Depending
on your nature, you might want a lot of help or you might not. My advice
is to find several people willing to help you and based on how much you
trust them to follow through, hand out assigned tasks. Here are some of
the things you are going to need to remember as the big day approaches: +
Keeping Track of RSVP's When
you send out invitations, whether they are e-mail or by regular mail, make
sure to ask for your guests to RSVP. Write down those that do and check
them off of your list. Cross out who isn't coming, and contact anyone who
hasn't answered for an affirmative decision. This will help you know how
many people are coming for certain. Plan
your food for more people than will be there. +
Purchasing food / fixing it This
is something your roommate, sister, or mom can help you with. Have two
people go to the store for larger lists, and one for smaller lists. Divide
up the cost between the bridesmaids (I'm assuming you're the maid of
honor, since they normally host such parties) if possible. Keep track of
all the food, where it is, and what you plan to do with it, then ask
someone to help you fix it. +
Which gift was from whom? Most
brides send out thank you notes for all gifts received, but it can be
difficult remembering who gave them what. Delegate someone to make a note
of which girl gave her what, so they can be properly thanked later, then
make sure the bride has a copy before she leaves. +
Clean-up Ask
someone beforehand if they will remain and help you clean up, or bribe
your brother to do it.
