This is a place where Christian audiences can
gather together and experience the joys of digging deeper into
Rowling's story. I am not arrogant enough to say that any of
these possibilities are intentional by the author, merely that
the controversy surrounding
Harry Potter can
be used as a fantastic teaching tool for children. This
collection of essays and chapter summaries is for that purpose
and nothing more, as well as to indulge my joy of digging deeper
into popular media.
I used to be a member of the anti-Potter
group but then read the
books and discovered how
wonderful they are. Now
I'm committed to helping
bring out what I believe
is religious symbolism
in the series based on
what I know of Rowling's
writing style, the
subtle (and not so
subtle) allegorical
aspects, and her respect
for another magnificent
seven-book series called
Narnia. The
summaries, profiles, and
information contained
herein has a distinctly
Christian worldview. We
don't claim that Rowling
intends any of the
parallels we find, but
religious elements can
easily be found when you
go looking for them. If
you believe Hogwarts is
evil, you won't want to
stick around. If you're
standing on middle
ground, we can help
point out some positive
things about the book
series. If you're a fan,
you might make some
fantastic new
discoveries...
