For ten years, this site has been rewarding visitors with terrific movie reviews from young writers. Newer movies, older movies, miniseries, television shows, we have it all in our archive of over 1,500 titles!

Our Mission

Many years ago, I realized a lot of "Christian" movie review sites were missing the boat. Either they said nothing about the movie itself and outlined content, or they did not bother addressing the content and just talked about how to apply the lessons in the film to our lives. Other sites provided good reviews but seemed to be "harder" on some movies than others -- and none of them were maintained, created, or updated by young people. It's rather unfair to expect an older generation to "get" modern trends in film (like the vampire following), so to fill the void, Charity's Place was created.
 
It started out very different. It has gone through a dozen revisions over the last ten years but our primary focus has always been to provide reviews of as many productions as we possibly can. Our focus is not just on the latest big blockbuster but movies you might run across in your rental store, in your local library, or on television. We review whatever strikes our interest and whatever you are interested in. I monitor our search engine and if we don't have it, usually I will make an effort to watch and review it. We also welcome requests and do our best to fill them based on popularity or interest.
 
One of the things we most love doing is keeping on top of television series and Masterpiece Theatre productions. Why? Because we are obsessed with costume dramas. Dickens, Austen, Wilde. I am mad about them -- and so are our readers. So from BBC productions to the SyFy Channel, you will always find an enormous selection of stuff reviewed from a contemporary and hip perspective. We address content but are not preachy about it. Best of all, we're just like you: we get it. We know what it is like to live in a world saturated in entertainment and want to remain "apart" but also not be left behind.
 
It is my hope that if you are a new visitor, you will LOVE this website and come to appreciate its usefulness. Bookmark us and come back often; we are constantly updating because if there's one thing in this world we can count on, it's that we will never run out of movies.
