I saw The Prince & Me back in 2004 when it came out on DVD. I really enjoyed the movie, but was a little disappointed in the ending, So when I saw that they made the direct–to-DVD Prince & Me 2, I was excited to see more of Paige and Eddie’s story.

Paige Morgan (Kam Heskin), is now attending medical school in Denmark. She has a little too much going in her life right now, with so much homework in addition to planning her wedding with Eddie (Luke Mably). To add one more thing, Eddie’s parents announce that their good friend Prince Albert (Jim Holt) and his daughter are coming to stay in the palace. The "charming" Prince Albert reminds them of an old Denmark law. If a king is unmarried, he must choose a wife of noble birth, or relinquish his crown. In providing this useful piece of information, Albert also reminds them that his daughter Kirsten (Clemency Burton-Hill), is such a woman of noble birth. He promises to keep this information out of the press, while they try to find the “loophole” they need for Eddie and Paige to still get married.

Kirsten and Eddie spent their summers together when they were children, so Eddie doesn’t believe Kirsten could have any part in her father’s plan of upstaging their marriage. During Kirsten’s stay, she and Paige became friends. But the longer she remains in the palace, the more Paige starts to notice that whenever Kirsten is involved, more things seem to go wrong. To make it worse, her future mother in law (Maryam D’Abo) has taken a liking to Kirsten, and spends most of her time with her. When another “scandal” drives Paige and Eddie apart, Paige begins to wonder if it’s time for her to go back to the states, or if she can find the loophole  needs in order to still have her happily ever after, before it’s too late!

There is very little negative content in this movie. One brief scene has Paige and Eddie in a bar; everyone at the table is drinking, but it is short and only lasts a couple of minutes. I was glad to see Luke Mably back as Eddie. I thought Kam Heskin did a great job as Paige, although I like Julia Stiles better in the role. Jonathan Firth was amusing in the role of  Soren, and added several laughs. If you are a fan of the 1996 version of Pride and Prejudice, it might be fun to know that Jonathan is Colin Firth's brother. The only disappointment I had about the characters was they didn’t have or talk about Eddie’s younger sister. I enjoyed seeing a continuation to Paige and Eddie’s story.

If you were like me and felt you wanted to see more of their story or just enjoy a sweet romantic comedy, I would recommend this movie! If you haven’t seen The Prince & Me, I would also recommend you watch it first.
